Darrell was born and raised right here in Stafford County. As a lifelong resident of Stafford, he attended Stafford County Schools and established a long-term career with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.
In his 44 years of service to the County, Darrell served as a Deputy in many different capacities, not only as a patrol officer but as a 1st Sergeant where he had the distinct honor of working closely with Stafford's senior community on the TRIAD program and numerous other community-based programs -- from Neighborhood Watch to Crime Solvers, to the Sheriff’s Special Star Cadet Program.
Darrell has been married for over 30 years to his wife Gina and has two children, both of whom attended Stafford County Schools. Darrell keeps himself busy by continuing his work with the Sheriff’s Department and also serves as a part-time employee of Covenant Funeral Home. He is a member of The Mount Church in Garrisonville and a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 290 for the last 40 years. Darrell's public service also included running rescue with the Stafford Rescue Squad, to which he remains affiliated as a life member. He also serves as a Board Member of the Area 11 Special Olympics and currently serves on the Fire and Rescue Memorial Committee.
Before his election 4 years ago, Darrell served 2 terms on the Stafford Planning Commission representing the Hartwood District on land use issues to include approval authority of preliminary subdivision plans, waivers of subdivision requirements, and requests for determination of compliance with the Comprehensive Plan.
During his term on the Stafford County Board of Supervisors, Darrell has served on the Joint Schools Working Committee; Public Safety Memorial Committee and the Community Policy and Management Team. He currently represents the Board on the: George Washington Regional Commission (Past Chairman); RAAA Healthy Generations; the Social Services Board; and the Westlake ARB. He serves as an alternate on: the Fredericksburg Area Metropolitan Planning Organization; and the Potomac and Rapphannock Transportation Commission.
