Biography:

I am announcing my candidacy for the Stafford Board of Supervisors, Aquia District. I have been a Stafford Resident since April, 1997.  Prior to retiring from the U.S. Army and building a home here, I served as a Combat Arms officer in Europe and the United States.  My service to Stafford County includes:

  • 2007 – Chairman of the Stafford County Task Force on Illegal Immigration.
  • 2007 – Appointment to the Stafford Regional Airport Authority and service as its Chairman from 2012 – 2015.  As Chairman, I secured a grant from Virginia Department of Aviation to build the existing Airport Terminal and obtained Federal funding and environmental approval to extend the airport runway to accommodate jet aircraft.
  • Appointment to the Embrey Mill Community Development Authority at its creation.
  • Appointment to the Citizens Transportation Advisory Committee (CTAC) and twice elected as its Chairman.

In the community, I joined the Senior Advisory Board for the Fredericksburg Corps, Salvation Army and became its Chairman.

My education includes a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy and a Masters of Program Management degree from George Washington University.

As a member of the Board of Supervisors, I will emphasize that:

  • Public safety is enhanced by ensuring First Responders are adequately funded.
  • Transportation dollars are aggressively pursued to ease congestion and offer alternative transportation capabilities to residents by bringing Commuter Airline service to Stafford Regional Airport.
  • Local government services and County schools are given oversight to maximize efficiency and reduce cost to taxpayers.
  • The Stafford County Public Schools Career Awareness – Exploration – Immersion Program, which prepares graduating Seniors to be productive, contributing members of the community, is fully supported.
  • Stafford County becomes a business-friendly environment by expediting business investment that enhances quality of life and provides much needed property tax relief for residents.
  • Any residential rezoning actions do not burden County taxpayers and maintain the County’s remaining open spaces.
